Employer reports now run on schedule.
A third-party administrator captured each employer group’s reporting logic once and runs it on schedule.

Challenge
The questions
- 01How could each employer’s requirements be captured once and reused?
- 02Which preparation and validation steps could be automated?
- 03How could reporting changes be made without rebuilding the entire process?
Employer groups wanted reporting that reflected their own populations, benefits, and business questions. Supporting those differences created recurring work for the TPA each time a report had to be prepared, checked, and delivered.
Custom requirements could vary by measure, population, reporting period, or presentation. As those requirements accumulated, the TPA needed a way to preserve each group’s reporting logic and run it consistently.
The burden included remembering why each variation existed. A population filter or calculation choice could be specific to an employer’s benefits or reporting agreement. Repeating those decisions by hand made continuity depend on the people who knew each account.
Solution
Flume enabled the TPA to automate custom reporting for specific employer groups. Each workflow combined the relevant data, group requirements, and reporting logic into a repeatable process.
ContextBase retained the definitions and source relationships behind the reports. Common logic could be reused while preserving the requirements that made an employer’s reporting distinct.
Impact
- Each reporting cycle takes less work to assemble.
- The team spends its time on exceptions, interpretation, and new client questions.
- Changes to a group’s population, measures, or presentation are made within its saved workflow.
- Each report stays tied to the employer’s request and the calculation behind it.
