Confluence

Confluence Cloud or Confluence Data Center / Server.

Access mode: Read-only

Required information

FieldDetails
Instance URLCloud: https://<org>.atlassian.net/wiki. Data Center: your self-hosted URL.
Space key(s)Confluence spaces to access. Or “all spaces” if global read is needed.
AuthenticationCloud: API token + email (basic auth) or OAuth 2.0 app. Data Center: PAT or OAuth.
API permissionsRead-only: read:confluence-content.all, read:confluence-space.summary.

Network considerations

Cloud: HTTPS over 443 to <org>.atlassian.net. No VPN needed.

Data Center (on-prem): VPN or reverse proxy. REST API must be accessible at /rest/api/.

Atlassian Access (Cloud): If the org uses Atlassian Access with IP allowlisting, Flume’s IPs must be added.

Credential and auth management

Preferred (Cloud): OAuth 2.0 (3LO) app. Registered in Atlassian Developer Console. Scoped to specific APIs. Token refresh automatic.

Acceptable (Cloud): API token. Generated per user at id.atlassian.com. Used with basic auth (email:token). Tied to a user account.

Data Center: PAT. Generated in user settings. Scoped to the user’s permissions.

Rate limits: Confluence Cloud has API rate limits (~100 requests/min). Flume respects Retry-After headers.
