SingleStore (MemSQL)
SingleStore Cloud (Helios) or self-managed.
Access mode: Read-only or read-write
Trino connector. Queryable via Flume’s Lakehouse. This system can be accessed both through its native protocol (for metadata introspection) and via Trino federation (for data profiling and cross-system analytical queries).
Required information
| Field | Details |
|---|---|
| Host / IP | SingleStore aggregator node endpoint. Cloud: endpoint from portal. |
| Port | Default 3306 (MySQL-compatible wire protocol). |
| Database(s) | SingleStore databases to access. |
| Credentials | Username + password. Cloud: user created in portal. |
| SSL | Required for Cloud. On-prem: configurable. |
| Access level | Read-only: SELECT, SHOW on databases/tables. Uses MySQL-compatible GRANT model. |
Network considerations
SingleStore Cloud (Helios): HTTPS/MySQL protocol. VPC peering (AWS PrivateLink, Azure Private Link) or IP allowlisting.
Self-managed: VPN or direct access to aggregator node on port 3306.
Wire protocol: MySQL-compatible. Standard MySQL drivers and connectors work.
Trino access: Flume’s Lakehouse queries SingleStore via the Trino SingleStore connector over MySQL protocol.
Credential and auth management
Standard MySQL-compatible auth. Create a dedicated user with SELECT grants.
SingleStore Cloud: User management in the cloud portal. Role-based access.
JWT auth: SingleStore supports JWT-based authentication for service accounts.
Connection limits: Check max_connections global variable.
Stored procedure and logic access
SingleStore supports stored procedures with MySQL-compatible syntax. CALL to execute, EXECUTE privilege required. Introspection via INFORMATION_SCHEMA.ROUTINES and SHOW CREATE PROCEDURE.
Validation checks
| Check | Method | Expected result |
|---|---|---|
| Network reachability | mysql -h <host> -P 3306 -e 'SELECT 1' | Returns 1 |
| Authentication | SELECT CURRENT_USER() | Returns service account |
| Database access | SHOW TABLES IN <db> | Lists tables |
| Read test | SELECT * FROM <db>.<table> LIMIT 1 | Returns a row |
| Permission audit | SHOW GRANTS FOR '<user>'@'%' | Matches expected grants |
Every connection starts from the pre-engagement checklist and goes through the universal validation protocol before production sign-off.
