SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

On-premises (SQL Server) or Azure-SSIS IR.

Access mode: Read-only

Required information

FieldDetails
SSIS Catalog (SSISDB)SQL Server hosting the SSISDB catalog database.
Project/package namesSSIS projects and packages to introspect.
AuthenticationSame as SQL Server connection (SQL Auth or Windows Auth).
Access levelRead-only on SSISDB: ssis_admin role or SELECT on SSISDB catalog views.

Network considerations

Same as SQL Server. SSIS metadata lives in the SSISDB database on a SQL Server instance.

Azure-SSIS IR: SSISDB hosted on Azure SQL. Same connectivity as Azure SQL.

Credential and auth management

Same as SQL Server connector. SSIS metadata is queried via SQL against the SSISDB catalog.

Permissions: SELECT on catalog.packages, catalog.projects, catalog.executions, and related views.

Package introspection: To read package XML/DTSX content, need SELECT on catalog.get_project stored proc or direct access to the internal tables.

Validation checks

CheckMethodExpected result
SSISDB accessSELECT * FROM SSISDB.catalog.foldersLists SSIS folders
Project listingSELECT * FROM SSISDB.catalog.projectsLists projects
Package listingSELECT * FROM SSISDB.catalog.packages WHERE project_id = <id>Lists packages
Execution historySELECT TOP 5 * FROM SSISDB.catalog.executions ORDER BY start_time DESCReturns recent executions

Every connection starts from the pre-engagement checklist and goes through the universal validation protocol before production sign-off.
